Bladder Health 101
The Urology Care Foundation has a great new podcast hosted by Casey Callanan. Please join me and Casey as we discuss bladder health for Bladder Health Month in November.
Bladder health includes bladder cancer, incontinence and urotraumatic injuries, among others. Bladder cancer accounts for 16,000 American deaths each year and has the highest recurrence rate of all cancers. – AUA
The bladder is an amazing organ inside the pelvis in both men and women, and has this unique function of storing and emptying urine. It works together with our brain and spinal cord to develop ‘conscious control’ over time. Later in life, it sometimes develops loss of control, and can even stop functioning entirely.
People may erroneously believe there is no medical solution to bladder conditions, or feel too uncomfortable to bring these issues to the attention of their physician. But bladder health is important, and in this day and age, there is no reason to be embarrassed about bladder issues, like incontinence.
So, don’t be embarrassed – learn how to keep your bladder healthy and enjoy the full podcast!
