Muskegon Area Medication Disposal Program

Dr. Stork is an advocate and supporter of the Muskegon Area Medication Disposal Program (MAMDP). MAMDP is a community collaboration between several organizations in Muskegon County to properly dispose of the area’s unwanted medications and used sharps.

In this video, Dr. Stork says, “One of the biggest concerns I have as a physician is leftover medication being left in a medicine cabinet and kids having access to it. Narcotics are a good way for kids to enter into a drug abuse situation, and I am always concerned about that. Having a safe way to get rid of these medications, I think, is great for the community and for our children.”

Dr. Stork credits Carrie Uthe as the person instrumental in getting him involved with MAMDP, “It takes a special kind of leader to not only get physicians, pharmacists, patients and payers to think about an issue differently, but to also act differently.”
